You’re in Japan to celebrate the holidays. Maybe you’re traveling with tiny tots or hoping to spend Christmas in a more kawaii way. Why not make it a Sanrio Christmas with Hello Kitty and friends?
In this blog, we’ll take you shopping for adorable trinkets. After that, we’ll visit Sanrio Puroland and Harmonyland for fun Christmas activities. And if you’re still not convinced, we’ll dig deeper into everything Sanrio has to offer. Are you ready? Ikimashou! (Let’s go!)
First stop: Sanrio World Ginza Store. It’s a must-stop if you’re looking for merch of all your favorite Sanrio characters. Here, you can buy delicious Hello Kitty Almond Cookies for someone with a sweet tooth or a Kuromi bag for the shopper in your life. And, of course, cute outfits and toys for the little ones!
Plenty of stocking stuffers for last-minute shoppers include fuzzy socks, ornaments for the tree, and small figurines to place on your shelf. Don’t skip the Pompompurin Nutcracker plushies, Cinnamoroll Santa stickers, or Hello Kitty Advent calendar.
And we can’t forget the stationery! Pick up some Light and Melody cards with the Little Twin Sisters and Hello Kitty-themed wrapping paper to wrap all your presents in! You can find Sanrio World Ginza on the second floor of the Nishi Ginza Department Store in Chuo-ku, Tokyo!
Take the holidays to the next level with Puroland Christmas! Sanrio Puroland gets a magical Christmas makeover: trees, lights, and more. But the best part is the events.
Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel play carols with The Puro Music Band in Puro Village at The Puroland Christmas Very Merry Concert. They also appear at the Puroland Christmas Special Greeting, one of two greeting sessions this season.
At the Puroland Christmas Special Session Greeting, you’ll meet Hello Kitty and friends wearing beautiful Christmas outfits. You’ll also be able to play Christmas songs on your very own musical instruments!
Kiki & Lala Twinkling Studio has a romantic Christmas twist, while Fuwa Fuwa Kids Land is offering toys with sounds for little tykes. If you’re looking for the perfect spot for your Christmas photoshoot, check out the Puroland Christmas Photo Spot in Rainbow Hall 3F.
Speaking of photos, you can also take pictures in the Character Food Court with the Christmas-themed tables and menus. And let’s not forget the food: Let’s Sing! Puro Carol Curry, Ring-a-ling Pudding a la mode, and other tasty and aesthetically pleasing creations!
Last but not least, the Entrance Shop has a big selection of Puro Band goods: key rings, mascots, sweets, towels, and badge sets. They’re a great way to make your Christmas more festive and adorable. You can find Sanrio Puroland in Tama City, Tokyo. Puroland Christmas runs from November 10 to December 25!

Finally, let’s brave the cold and go to Harmonyland! The park is decorated for the season with beautiful lights and adorable Sanrio Christmas trees. Inside Kitty Castle, you’ll find Hello Kitty wearing her Christmas costume and her 50th anniversary costume. If you give her flowers, you’ll get a gift in exchange.
You’ll need to pay for the Kitty Castle present. But you can get other surprises for free. If you say a password to a staff member with a Bad Batzmaru badge, you’ll get your very own character sticker!
Various light and music shows feature Hello Kitty, Bad Batzmaru, and other characters in Harmony Village. Some of the events include photo sessions. Visit Harmonyland on December 23-24 for the “Parade Parallel Christmas Starlight version.”
And like Sanrio Puroland, Harmonyland’s Christmas menus are now available. Choose from Kitty’s Christmas Hayashi Rice, Christmas dogs, and four flavors of special Christmas ice cream! Harmonyland is located in Hiji, Oita Prefecture. The Christmas events are from November 17-December 15. Don’t forget to dress warm!
Why have a Sanrio Christmas? Well, there are a few things you can enjoy about it.
Both Sanrio Puroland and Harmonyland go all out with the Christmas decor. Whether it’s the multicolored lights or the Christmas trees with Sanrio character motifs, they’re a feast to the eyes and sure to put a smile on even the grumpiest Grinch’s face. Another bonus? You’ll get some amazing pictures!
