If you’re a big fan of Hello Kitty, love Harajuku fashion, or even everything cute, then this is a good news for you! Coming to Japan this summer, the cutest and most colorful collaboration of Harajuku’s famous Kawaii Monster Cafe with our lovely cat girl, Hello Kitty to celebrate all things adorable! How excited are you?
Haven’t heard about Kawaii Monster Cafe before? Well, this cafe has been an icon of Japanese kawaii culture, produced by artist and creative director Sebastian Masuda. It’s quite spacious as this cafe has 193 seats and is divided into 4 sections; “Mushroom Disco”, “Milk Stand”, “Bar Experiment”, and “Mel-Tea Room”. They describe their cafe as a “Monster” that gobbles things up and expands, creating a unique culture in the process. Since their opening in August 2015, this cafe has gained more and more popularity over the years. Now, to celebrate their 4th anniversary while at the same year Hello Kitty is turning 45, they’re presenting a special collaboration called Harajuku x Kawaii x Hello Kitty.

The highlight of this cafe is the special Hello Kitty Room in the Mel-Tea Room; one of the most popular sections of the cafe. Mel-Tea Room has temporarily went through a re-modification to change into a Hello Kitty design which is such a dream come true! You will be welcomed with all pastels decorating the walls, colorful and kawaii food, also plenty of Hello Kitty furnishings all around you throughout the interior. However, tables in this room are only available by reservation and the visiting time is limited to 2 hours. Well, that’s should be enough time to experience the Hello Kitty Paradise, right? Or, do you need more than 2 hours to cherish this Hello Kitty heaven? 😂
Did we mention about the colorful and kawaii food? Yup! Kawaii Coffee Monster also have an extra special menu of Hello Kitty-themed dishes, made up of eight colorful ingredients and garnishes. They are Hello Kitty Burger with a Rainbow Cheese Sauce and Hello Kitty Harajuku Rainbow Curry. How unique is that? The rainbow curry itself is designed as adorable as it can be. The rice is shaped like Hello Kitty, dipped in a creamy curry and rainbow sauce on top of the rice. These Hello Kitty dishes are definitely made up specially for you, Hello Kitty lovers!

But that’s not all though! When you order something off of the Hello Kitty menu, you will also be gifted a special limited edition coaster featuring Hello Kitty in Kawaii Monster Cafe fashion, the Cafe’s mascot Mr. Choppy, or both. If the cafe happens to get SUPER busy and you (sadly) can’t make it to get a reservation in, we have good news for you! The Kawaii Monster Cafe plans to release various Hello Kitty merchandise to be exclusively sold in Kawaii Monster’s merchandise shop which means….you can still get your limited-edition Hello Kitty goodies from Kawaii Monster such as keychains, mugs, cookies and many more, even when you don’t get to experience the cafe! But hey, do you need more girly merchandise? We recommend you to check Sailor Moon Store in Tokyo, especially if you love Sailor Moon!
