Which Sailor Moon Character Are You, Based on Your Zodiac Sign?

Sailor Moon is one of the most popular TV shows of all time.

Starting out as a long-running original series from the ’90s to early 2000’s, the show has inspired several original plays, video games, and exclusive merchandise since. For many people it was the first anime they watched back in their childhood and the love for the show still feels fresh today. Each hero is associated with a planet which helps define their overall personalities. However, after taking a deeper dive into the show, we can see their eccentric personalities relate to their zodiac signs and beyond just their associated planet.

Have you ever wondered what Sailor Moon character is associated with your zodiac sign?

Aries: Sailor Mars

As the first in the zodiac cycle, Aries’ love to be number one. They’re bold, ambitious, and jump into the most challenging situations headfirst. So it’s no surprise that Sailor Mars would be the Aries of the group. Sailor Mars has a fiery temper and sharp intuition based on her psychic predictions that come from studying flames. She’s an act first, ask questions later type of warrior, and she’s quick to protect her friends. Mars is the ruling planet of the Aries sign as well so it fits her perfectly.

Taurus: Luna

Not exactly a sailor scout, but Luna’s still an important part of the team. As an Earth sign Taurus values stability, comfort, and honesty above all things. They’re usually considered the “mom” of a friend group because of their guiding and caring nature. Luna is known as Usagi’s (Serena in the English dub) pet cat but also acts as an advisor to the Sailor Scouts. She unites the Guardians, to begin with, and when the girls mess up she’s not one to hold her tongue. Over the entire series, Luna has been an excellent mentor as a good Taurus would.

Gemini: Chibi Moon

Playful, intellectually curious, and social butterflies, Geminis fit the personality of Chibi Moon especially well. We’re introduced to this cute character in the Sailor Moon R story arc. As the time-traveling child of Neo Queen Serenity and King Endymion, it seems fitting that this tiny character would have the zodiac sign that represents twins. Geminis are known for their quick wit and sharp tongues, which accounts for Chibi Moon constantly teasing Usagi throughout the show.

Cancer: Sailor Moon

As the most emotional sign of the zodiac, of course, Sailor Moon would be a Cancer. Cancers are loyal, protective, and caring but they’re also known to be moody and vindictive. It’s already confirmed that Usagi Tsukino is a Cancer in the show, but we could already guess without being told. She loves sleeping, using crying as a superpower, and often wins her battles by tapping into her more sensitive side. Usagi is a natural romantic seeing how easily she falls in love. While she comes across as quite weak compared to her peers she’s quite the force to be reckoned with.

Leo: Tuxedo Mask

It’s hard to place Tuxedo Mask since he doesn’t get as much screen time as the other characters. When we do see him, he’s always the one to come through at the last minute to save the day. He’s mysterious and loves to keep the Sailor Guardians guessing his next move just like Leo. Leos are bold, warm, loving, and have a flair for the dramatic. Tuxedo Mask knows how to make an entrance wherever he goes. Even if there’s no particular danger, expect to see him make a scene just for the sake of showmanship.

Virgo: Sailor Mercury

Known for being logical, practical, and systematic in their approach to life, this Earth sign is a perfectionist at heart. Sailor Mercury embodies the idea of Virgo from her battle style to her school work. As the technology specialist of the group, Sailor Mercury always analyzes the opponent first before making a move. In school she’s competitive with her studies, being at the top of her class, and helps her friends to pass as well. Virgos are quick-witted and have an eye for details just like Sailor Mercury.

Libra: Sailor Venus

Sailor V—the Guardian of Love and Justice, is a Libra. Libras are dominated by Venus, the planet of love and beauty. These signs are charming, beautiful, and well-balanced. Sailor Venus was the first of the Sailor Senshi to transform, and as such, she acted on her own as Sailor V. She was charming, beautiful, and did everything in her power to stop the forces of evil. They’re most at peace in a balanced world making Sailor Venus one of the best crime fighters.

Scorpio: Sailor Pluto

Sailor Pluto is the guardian of the space-time door, and her powers are linked to space and darkness. She’s as mysterious as her powers and fits the Scorpio sign quite well. Scorpios are closely connected with death and transformations, and since Pluto is their ruling planet they’re particularly skilled at dealing with difficult life changes. These signs are easily misunderstood due to their intense nature but deep down they’re very emotional and crave intimacy. Although she spends most of her time alone, she becomes the adoptive mother of Hotaru Tomoe.

Sagittarius: Sailor Jupiter

Sagittarians tend to live their lives freely. They’re optimistic, spontaneous, but they get bored easily and tend to avoid commitment. When we first meet Sailor Jupiter, her combative, independent attitude intimidates the girls. However, she was able to quickly become friends with the girls with her easy-going personality. Sailor Jupiter harnesses the power of thunder and loves to take on any challenge.

Capricorn: Sailor Saturn

Another mysterious character Sailor Saturn is the strongest of all the Sailor Senshi. She’s the Guardian of Destruction and can easily wipe out entire solar systems and reset planetary timelines at will. Her personality matches very closely to Capricorns. Capricorns are ambitious and have high aspirations, but their overarching nature can sometimes unintentionally hurt others. The ram charges through life with serious focus and ambition, similar to how Sailor Saturn acts in the show.

Aquarius: Sailor Uranus

Aquarians are true individuals and Sailor Uranus doesn’t play by anyone’s rules. She’s always riding on a motorcycle or driving a convertible car, and she doesn’t wear the traditional girls uniform. Sailor Uranus is open minded, logical and extremely clever, and is ruled by planet Uranus. This independent fighter perfectly captures the eccentric Aquarian spirit.

Pisces: Sailor Neptune

A true water spirit, Pisces are laid back, agreeable, and empathetic people. They have a deep appreciation for romance and art. Sailor Neptune is not only a fantastic student, she’s also a fantastic musician. Through her art, she’s able to display her romantic infatuation with the world while also showing her intelligence as well. Pisceans are elegant, sophisticated dreamers but can be a little guarded compared to the other signs.

That’s our list of who the Sailor Moon characters are based on their zodiac signs. It can be a little hard to pin some of the support characters but I think we nailed it this time. How did we do? Would you change any of the characters? Let us know and be sure to tune in for more Sailor Moon Crystal Episodes.
