Tuxedo Mask Reveals His True Identity

Every action/comedy/romance needs a mysterious love interest! For Sailor Moon herself, it was the suave and ever-cool Tuxedo Mask, a well-dressed and dashing hero who always appeared in the nick of time during battle. For the longest time, it was never known who Tuxedo Mask was (though fans certainly had their strong suspicions.) 

When he revealed that he was none other than Darien Shields, Sailor Moon’s real-life friend and love interest, the dynamic between the Sailor Scouts and Tuxedo Mask changed forever. Suddenly, every battle had that much more impact, that much more drama. If Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask had a falling out, would their personal lives suffer, and vice versa? For Sailor Moon, this was a seminal moment that completely rocked her world.

Kunzite Says Goodbye to Zoisite

For the Sailor Scouts, few foes were as persistent and dangerous as Kunzite and Zoisite. Two of the Four Heavenly Kings serving beneath Queen Beryl, Kunzite and Zoisite, battled against the Sailor Scouts and Tuxedo Mask, causing immense grief.

But there was a definitive sense of brotherhood between them for all their evil acts, even so far as being considered love. When Zoisite met his untimely end, Kunzite knelt beside him and held him close, his affection shining true. It was incredibly touching, especially for two characters clearly defined as villains. It only showed that even those with nefarious intentions could be tender.

The Tragic Story of the Moon Kingdom

With her dark influence reaching far into Sailor Moon’s past, even so far as acting as the catalyst for Serena’s very existence, it’s possible to argue that without Queen Beryl, there would be no Sailor Moon. For Sailor Moon to finally engage her in battle was to bring years’ worth of strife and woe to a climactic head.

Arrogant to a fault, Queen Beryl believed she was invulnerable behind her magical power, but Sailor Moon tricked her in the most unexpected way possible and destroyed her power necklace with the mighty Sword of the Silver Crystal. However, it needs to be stated that this battle differs significantly between manga and anime.
