Written and illustrated by Gege Akutami, Jujutsu Kaisen is a Japanese manga series originally released as a manga and later as an anime. The storyline follows Yuji Itadori, a high school student who joins a secret society of Jujutsu Sorcerers after becoming the host of a powerful curse to protect his friends.
The story follows Yuji in Tokyo where he is brought to Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School with a proposal to the staff: delay Yuji’s death and allow him to train until the curse can be completely broken.
After they accept the proposal, the story really begins to take off. The story continues on, following Yuji, his friends, other students, and faculty in their journey to eliminate the curses wreaking havoc on humanity.
The Jujutsu Kaisen anime series was released in 2020, with a prequel movie in 2021. Season two of the series was recently announced and will run for six months in 2023. The exciting new Dolce & Gabbana collab will hold fans over until then.

Yes, really! Dolce & Gabbana recently launched a line of clothing pieces inspired by the Shonen manga/anime, Jujutsu Kaisen. The collection launched in select boutiques across Japan and online retailers in April of this year.
It may seem random and it kind of is. Jujutsu Kaisen is no stranger to fashion collaborations as it was featured in a Uniqlo UT collection in 2021. However, Jujutsu Kaisen is Dolce & Gabbana’s first anime/manga collaboration meaning that this collab will be breaking new ground for the fashion house.
So far, the collection has been described as a mix of anime and Japanese street style aesthetics. It mixes the character styles on the show with the vibrancy of the Shibuya and Harajuku districts of Tokyo.
This is perfect considering much of Jujutsu Kaisen takes place right on the streets of Tokyo with iconic scenes featuring both Shibuya and Harajuku. The line is filled with cute, fun styles that can help you feel as though you’re walking the streets of Harajuku and Shibuya from anywhere in the world.
The collection features a number of pieces inspired by main characters, Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, and Nobara Kugisaki. Each character has pieces that match their personality or storylines in some way.
For example, Yuji’s hoodie features markings that are meant to represents Sakuna’s markings on him and Nobara’s hoodie features roses on the left sleeve symbolizing her fight with curses, Eso and Kechizu.
You can also find items drawing inspiration from Maki Zenin, Toge Inumaki, and Panda. Also featured are Kento Nanami and Satoru Gojo. The collection is home to many cute and stylish pieces that capture each Jujutsu Kaisen character’s personal style and traits.
The anime premiered in 2020 and was quickly followed by a prequel movie in 2021. Season Two of the series was recently announced and will air in 2023.
In the meantime, fans can enjoy the exciting new Dolce & Gabbana collab. Each piece is detail-oriented and dives into the character’s storyline in a creative way. From hoodies and overcoats to phone cases and shoes, the collection has plenty for you to explore.
If you’re looking for where to buy, the line is being sold at select Dolce & Gabbana stores across Japan. Upon release, the collection was also featured in an alluring pop-up shop at ZeroBase Shibuya in Tokyo and the Umeda District in Osaka.
Here, fashion lovers were able to dive into an immersive space. It allowed them to experience the world of Jujutsu Kaisen while shopping the collection.
Each floor featured a different experience designed to help you feel like you’re a part of the series. On the first floor, characters model the outfits they inspired in large holographic images created by show director, Sunghoo Park.
Through the immersive animations and the exciting shopping experience, there’s something for fans of fashion and anime alike. Despite the popup being closed, the collection is still being sold around Japan in Dolce & Gabbana stores.
If you can’t make it to Japan for an in-store shopping experience, there is no need to book a flight ticket just yet. Instead, log onto your favorite browser and step into the world of Jujutsu Kaisen with cute, fashionable styles that are just a click away!
