Sanrio is home to some of the cutest and sweetest characters around; few are as kawaii (cute)and sweet as Cinnamoroll! As for Hello Kitty and her friends, Cinnamoroll’s appearances and adventures are not just in fun merchandise and accessories.

Cinnamoroll’s bubbly personality and popularity are so great that the little white puppy has starred in several anime and manga over the years. If you’ve been searching for that kawaii Cinnamoroll story, these are the best anime appearances to check out!

Who is Cinnamoroll?

Cinnamoroll is a little white puppy who was born in the clouds. With his large, floppy ears, Cinnamoroll flew down to the world, where he found a bakery that smelled super, super good. When the bakery owner saw Cinnamoroll, she thought his ears looked just like the cinnamon rolls he sold from her store. And so, Cinnamoroll was taken in by the baker, and he could now call the bakery his home.

Fluffy Fluffy Cinnamoroll is a manga series by Yumi Tsukirino. It tells the story of how Cinnamoroll goes on plenty of wacky and silly adventures with his friends from the bakery. As cute as it is, Cinnamoroll and his friends need to watch out for the dark cloud named Cavity, who wants to rain all over their parade. It’s a very simple manga aimed at young school-age readers, but fans of the little puppy can still find plenty to enjoy with it.

Cinnamoroll the Movie

One day, the magician Chowder witnessed Cinnamoroll fall from the sky. While the little white puppy was no threat to anyone, especially Ms. Anna, the bakery owner, Chowder thought it was up to him to save the day.

“Cinnamoroll the Movie” is about how Cinnamoroll and the gang have to escape a cursed candy land.

Chowder then cast a spell that whisked everyone into a magical land of candy; as if that wasn’t bad enough, Ms. Anna became trapped within a large castle, too! Cinnamoroll must not only brave the land of candy and save Ms. Anna but also find a way back home.

While not exactly an anime or manga, Café Cinnamoroll is one of the cutest and most fun theme cafes to visit in Tokyo. Not only is the café based on the sweet little cloud puppy, but it also serves some really tasty food. Omelets with rice and cheese, different kinds of soda, and yummy hot chocolates, parfaits, and other sweets are available, too. Theme cafes are great ways to spend a morning or afternoon with close friends, and Café Cinnamoroll is no exception!

Kimi wa Tennen Shoku

Cinnamoroll isn’t just one for anime, manga, and cafes! Nope, this little puppy also loves music and can be found in many different songs and performances. A recent song featuring the little cloud puppy is “Kimi wa Tennen Shoku”, a cover of Eiichi Ohtaki. It’s a fantastic song dedicated to the sister of the song’s lyricist, Takashi Matsumoto, who is no longer here with us.

Not only is the song heartfelt and touching, but hearing Cinnamoroll sing it so well is both extremely cute and a little sad. It’s nice to know that the tiny little doggy performed such a sentimental song for someone dear to Takashi Matsumoto.

Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Despite initially being a joke in a completely different kind of show, Hello Kitty Island Adventure became a real game in 2023. True to its name, Hello Kitty Island Adventure features the titular cat and all her friends as they explore a giant island.

And no Hello Kitty game would be complete without Cinnamoroll. Always ready to lend a paw and help, Cinnamoroll is one of the many characters players can talk to, give gifts to, and go on quests throughout the game. Pro tip: he loves Chocolate Chai Latte’s.

Why are these Cinnamoroll appearances so kawaii?

Cinnamoroll’s kawaii appearances across these movies, manga, and songs are so kawaii because the character himself is so cute. From his snow-white fur to his little sky-blue eyes and big ears, everything about Cinnamoroll is cute. It would be wonderful to imagine walking into his bakery, sitting down with a nice cup of coffee and some cake, and having him take a little nap on your lap.

Seeing him come to life in stories and movies is a bit sugary, sweet happiness that can help someone smile when they need it most. Seeing him pop up in video games and hearing him sing songs are just more ways Sanrio’s cute puppy can visit us in our day-to-day lives, even if we’re at home or somewhere far away.

Do you like Cinnamoroll? Have you seen any of these kawaii appearances yourself? If so, which one is your favorite? Please let us know in the comments below! We would love to hear which kawaii appearance is your favorite!
