Japan is the birthplace of countless kawaii characters, such as Hello Kitty, Cinnamonroll, Rilakkuma, and Pikachu. These characters’ appeal lies not only in their adorable appearances but also in their personalities, lifestyles, and the everyday stories or origins they share.

Creatives in Japan continually strive to release even more charming characters, including the “Cheer Cheer Lambs.” Let’s explore these characters and why they have recently become popular on Japanese social media!

Who are the Cheer Cheer Lambs?

The Cheer Cheer Lambs, Ramu, and Uryufu are San-X’s newest characters, introduced on July 17, 2024. These two kawaii characters bring joy and energy through their cheerful spirit. They are childhood friends who attend Ramram School, a place full of playful sheep. Their mission is to spread happiness and motivation to everyone they meet!

Born on June 6th, Ramu is a bubbly and super-positive lamb. Her charm point is her soft, fluffy wool and curled upward eyelashes. There’s also a cute little heart mark on the sole of her foot. She’s a very honest sheep who laughs and is always positive. Ramu loves spending her free time with Uryufu and enjoys posting on social media.

Uryufu, born on August 13th, has a quiet, gentle personality. Her charm points are her long, downward eyelashes and big, bushy tail. Sometimes, you might even spot her tiny fangs peeking out! Although Uryufu is a little shy, she’s very kind-hearted and always ready to make others feel warm and comfortable.

While Ramu doesn’t like anything scary, she loves dancing. She practices Cheer Dance every day and even does muscle training to improve. Her biggest dream is to become a fantastic cheerleader.

Uryufu, on the other hand, loves soft, fluffy foods like melon bread. Her favorite color is purple and blue. She’s excellent at sewing and has recently started learning to knit. Uryufu is very kind and loves helping others, often spending her free time advising anyone who needs it. Just like Ramu, her dream is to become a fantastic cheerleader. And they both enjoy working toward this goal together!
