Mochi, or rice cakes, are an important part of New Year's celebrations in Japan.

Cinnamoroll makes the perfect impression as ‘kagami mochi’, a mochi decoration in almost every Japanese home from late December. Kagami means 'mirror', which is why both layers are round.

The two mochi signify a look into the coming and going years. The orange atop the head, called ‘daidai’, sounds like the word 'generations' in Japanese, signifying familial continuation.
